ARTS & CRAFTS

NEEDLE ART BOUTIQUE

The Needle Art boutique designed a needlepoint crossword puzzle for their fundraising event for breast cancer. Each customer gave the names of family members and Needle Art custom designed a needlepoint for them and provided them with a complimentary instruction book. Needle Art donated $25.00 to the CURE Foundation for each needlepoint sold. They also sold loot bags and had a raffle for 15 prizes. Needle Art donated $4,120.00 to the CURE Foundation from the proceeds of their event. We greatly appreciate your creativity and generosity.

AUCTION

Employees and volunteers of the Foundation took the initiative and organized a potluck lunch and an auction to benefit the CURE Foundation and its cause, breast cancer. Each employee brought in a favorite dish and an item from home that they no longer wanted. Among these were serving dishes, clothing, paintings, accessories, unused wedding gifts, etc. After sampling everyone’s culinary accomplishments, the auction began. There were no minimum bids and no reserves, just an old-fashioned bidding war for their co-workers' belongings. When the last item was sold and the proceeds compiled, they were shocked to find out they had raised a whopping $324.55, selling things they had thought were useless. CURE was very glad to put their efforts to good use in the fight against breast cancer. Thank you all for your generous bids!

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS EVENTS

How far will these women go to beat breast cancer? How about more than 2500 km, racing across the Sahara desert in Morocco, with only their skill and courage to guide them? They're relying on the legendary performance of Geolander A/T-S radials to go the distance. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Cure Fondation in the fight against breast cancer. For more information, visit www.Yokohama.ca. And let's leave breast cancer in the dust

LIFE’S CELEBRATIONS

KATHERINE ISSENMAN, the 12 year old daughter of a breast cancer survivor, celebrated her Bat-Mitzvah by donating a portion of her gifts to the CURE Foundation for breast cancer. The Foundation was pleased to provide her with donation cards that were placed at her guests’ tables. Each card was identified with the person’s name and indicated that a donation was being made in their honor on the occasion of Katherine’s Bat-Mitzvah. As a direct result of Katherine Issenman’s gesture of generosity and selflessness, the amazing sum of $1,000.00 was raised for the fight against breast cancer! May she be blessed a thousand fold!
