KNOW YOUR

NORMAL

Did you know?

Many women who have had breast cancer detected it themselves.

That’s why it’s important to know your breasts, know your normal and know what to look for that might be a sign of breast cancer.

Changes to your breasts can also be signs of less serious conditions that are not cancerous, such as an infection or a cyst. In fact, 80% of lumps are not cancerous.

But the earlier breast cancer is found and diagnosed, the better the chances of beating it.

So know your normal, contact a health professional when something is not, and be your own best ally.

KNOW YOUR BREASTS

Remember to be proactive about your health and check yourself for any changes in your breasts.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR BREASTS

You can do it anywhere; in front of a mirror, lying down or in the shower with wet, soapy hands.

There isn’t really a specific way to check your breasts, as long as you are consistent, so make it part of your normal monthly routine.

Look for changes in the look and feel of your breasts and nipples.

Check the entire area, from your collarbone to rib cage and from your armpits to the breastbone.

Touch: Use either circular or up & down motions, and various degrees of pressure to identify any abnormalities.
