What are Dense Breasts?

Dense breasts contain more glandular and connective tissue than fatty tissue. Breast density is common and is often inherited, although other factors can also contribute.

Having dense breast tissue may slightly increase breast cancer risk and can make abnormalities more difficult to detect on a mammogram.
